Watering:

• Establishment Phase (First 4–6 Months):
• Water thoroughly after planting to saturate the root ball and soil.
• Water every 7–10 days to help the roots grow into the surrounding soil.
• Apply about 1–1.5in of water per session for deep soaking.
• Once Established:
• Spring & Summer: Water every 2–3 weeks; increase to every 10–14 days if temperatures exceed 100°F.
• Autumn & Winter: Reduce watering to every 6–8 weeks, or once a month if conditions stay cool and dry.
• Always allow the soil to dry out completely between watering's. Overwatering causes root rot, so ensure your soil is well-drained.
• When watering, apply enough until you see water drain out the bottom, ensuring deep root moisture.

Pruning:

• General Maintenance:
• Prune in late winter or early spring, before the growth season, for best results, though it can be done anytime. 
• Remove dead, damaged, or dried basal leaves near the plant’s base using sharp pruners or a pruning saw—wear gloves due to tough, sometimes sharp foliage.
